It seems like every year the teachers ask for more notebooks than the previous year. And each time I dutifully go and buy the required number of notebooks in the required variety of colors. And then May comes around and they bring home their leftover supplies and almost all of the notebooks come home either unused or with only a couple of pages written on.
This year I told my daughter that she had to reuse old notebooks we had lying around. **Gasp!** Although she tried not to show it, I saw her face fall when I told her. So in order to not break her sweet heart that loves all things new and clean, I offered to add some stickers to her notebooks so they look brand new and fun. She chose the topics and I made the stickers. First day of school, here we come...while complaining constantly and dragging our feet because this is just. too. early.
